REVIEW: KIDROBOT FATCAPS SERIES 3 QUISP
Quisp, an American graffiti artist of 30 years (no, he is not the cereal brand that I had to search through to find him) who is a member of the renowned ATT graffiti team. Devious is a part of TSC (a Cincinnati crew), and ATT and DF (Scribe and countless others), are neighboring crews that happen to work a lot together and share quite a few members. Aside from being part of well-known graffiti crews, he has also had a lot of his work in galleries and and even has curated shows and presided over workshops. There aren’t enough words to describe the amount of experience this guy has, so check out his site, and get ready for this figure review thanks to Tenacious Toys.
With a street artist such as a graffiti artist, nothing short of a B-boy street break dancer can be expected. With Run-DMC style glasses, medallion, tracksuit, and hat this screams break dancer. The design on the figure has very clean lines and show up very well with the contrasting colors for the figure and the painted on accessories. My main concern with the piece is the spray nozzle area. Without much imagination, and a not too fond memory of your adolescence, some may feel like it looks like a giant angry zit on the figure’s forehead. But fortunately there is a nice fix: use the included hat and all is fixed and right with the world. Very solid figure and artist, just kind of a grey area on the area under the hat.
