REVIEW: DEATHSHEAD MICKEY OG BY DAVID FLORES
Up for review today is the OG colorway of the David Flores Deathshead Mickey. This highly anticipated figure stands 10″ tall and features a gold tooth, aviator hat, and goggles. This figure screams Flores with his signature style that we have seen in his street art for years. His stained glass style is created with sculpted piping in areas like the feet, hat, shorts, hands, and skull. The figure is made of a very high quality vinyl and features six points of articulation. I must say that photos of this figure do not do it justice, this is one of those figures that you really have to hold in your hands to appreciate. From photos I was worried that there would be areas of paint transfer from the piping to the base colors below them. I only found a couple of small areas where was an issue, and they are only in areas that you would notice if you are right on top of the figure. The high quality vinyl that was used really puts some heft to this figure. So, you can have little concern for this figure toppling off your shelf. Some things that I really enjoy about this figure are the transition of colors on the teeth, the stance and proportions, and the quality of the figure. As far as production pieces are concerned I would have to say this is one of the best that I have seen in while. Bic Plastics did an amazing job with these. So, while the wait was long it was well worth it! Many sites are currently sold of of this colorway of this figure but you can pick it up HERE for $90. This figure also comes in a few different store exclusive colorways that look just as great as this edition. 3DRetro has the all black version that is still available online HERE. I suspect that non of these figures will be left for much longer so if you are looking to pick one up you better do it quick.
