FORCES OF DORKNESS “THE PENCIL FROM JOHN WICK 2” CUSTOM

john-wick-the-pencil-3-shot

“That fucking nobody is John Wick.” said Viggo Tarasov as he told the story about John killing 3 men in a bar with a pencil in John Wick and *spoiler alert*…in John Wick Chapter 2  you get to see him kill some bad guys with one. (Bad Guy is subjective in this case, who really is the bad guy you may ask yourself, me…I consider anyone trying to kill me the bad guy, and I bet John does too).

This is a tribute to an amazing action-movie franchise. It’s a real pencil, coated is resin for durability, and custom painted to look like it has entered someone’s skull and then been retracted. Each one is hand made so there is some variation between each so no two are alike.  Call it a toy, call it a collector’s item, call it a weapon, just don’t call John and expect him to say anything on the phone or to use more that 3 words as a response in a conversation.

Each one is a standard sized No. 2 pencil in a custom bloodied bag (note:  It’s paint and not actual blood because that would be gross and probably smell after a while) with a custom designed header card by The Forces of Dorkness.

$16.95 gets you one and being the nice guy he is Scott is also including shipping in the US.  The release is limited to 20 pieces, and to make one part of your collection all you have to do is go HERE.

CARSON CATLIN CREATES A NEW CUSTOM 8″ DUNNY!

face_angleThe king of cuts, Carson Catlin, makes his return to customizing toys in tremendous fashion with his new 8″ “Murder” Dunny. This black custom featuring his cutting paterns but this time with a bit of a twist! he has added pieces of vinyl cut in various shapes over top of the original Dunny shape to give the figure a broken or ripped look. I for one really like the change and hope to see more of this in the future! If you are interested in grabbing this custom for your figure you can get it HERE for $450 while it lasts!

WEBBO BOOK AND CUSTOMS

afrontcover2small

Toyhacker is a 100 page full colour book full of bizarre sculptures, twisted characters, dystopian dioramas ,kit smashes ,mutated models and weird custom toys,  every page is different to the last and encompasses the many facets of Webbo’s practice .

The book provides a window into a world most people grew out of but nostalgically wish to return to, it purposely rejects the restraints of what is expected in the mainstream art world  at the same time as paying homage to it with sculptures that would suit a high brow galleries wall within the same pages as strange art toys that would look at home on an eccentric  collectors mantle piece.

Toyhacker is  available for £15 from HERE along with many of his toy hacks subversions and sculptures.

As we head in to DCON, shows at booths are a staple of the event. At the 1000 Toys booth (#1404), there will be a host of custom painted 1/35 and 1/12 scale MechatroWeGO figures. Luke Chueh as we can see above did an excellent job on his piece, and we are excited to see the rest of the the artists and the pieces.
